Zambia has reached a 62% of effective implementation and thus becomes a candidate requested by ICAO to implement a State Safety Programme.

The workshop was held at the Golfview Cresta hotel in Lusaka and was attended by 12 delegates from the ZCAA, including the Director General and the SSP Implementation Team, consisting of the Head of Safety & Quality and inspectors from all technical disciplines. In addition, the ASSP II-Z local representative participated in some sessions.

ZCAA delegates participated actively and were engaged and motivated to complete the SSP implementation. Delegates already had a general understanding of relevant subjects such as swiss cheese, bow tie analysis, and risk matrix principles upon which to build with applications and calibration using real examples. Other activities OJT are foreseen for Q1 2020.
