The Meteorology Workshop involving pilots, ATCOs, CNS and Met Office staff took place at the M’kango Golfview Hotel in Lusaka. It was held by our external Expert on Aviation Safety and SSP,
Dr. Hazel Courteney.
Data analysis has revealed that 40% of safety reports in Zambia are classified as weather encounters. What is behind this data and what could be done? This workshop assessed the flight safety risks of various types of weather phenomena and generated recommendations for action to achieve better information to pilots. The recommendations will be presented to the Zambian National Aviation Safety Committee (NASC).
