Within the framework of the EU-funded Project to support the Aviation Sector for Zambia (Aviation Sector Support Programme II for Zambia - ASSP II-Z), Experts from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Republic of Zambia (Zambian CAA) and a group of contracted Experts led by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) met in Lusaka (Zambia) during two weeks from 19 February to 2 March 2018 to build a safety roadmap to be implemented along the project.

In the working sessions held during those two weeks, it was reviewed the implementation of ICAO SARPs (Standards and Recommended Practices) in the different aviation safety domains.

 

The information collected will be the basis to build the safety roadmap to be used during the implementation of the four years project that has as main objective to improve the compliance of Zambia with the international aviation safety standards, especially in terms of air safety certification and oversight.
